Kris Bugbee

Kris Bugbee founded Loden Advisory after over 30 years leading software engineering organizations, most recently as Senior Director of Cloud Platform Engineering at Broadcom. His core experience is running large, global software development organizations that build and release enterprise-class software, spanning cloud platform engineering, SaaS delivery, and enterprise engineering leadership.

Kris's first M&A engagement was helping integrate Symantec's Enterprise business into Broadcom. From there, he held executive-level responsibility for coordinating and representing the technical side of several of Broadcom's largest transactions — bridging Engineering and IT with the executives and stakeholders driving each deal. That work spanned both directions of M&A: the acquisition and integration of Symantec's Enterprise business and, later, VMware; and a series of divestitures on the other side — the carve-out of the End User Computing business into Omnissa (backed by KKR), a fully standalone company built with its own front- and back-office systems; the divestiture of VeloCloud to Arista Networks; and the divestiture of Symantec's Cyber Security Services business to Accenture.

Broadcom's operating culture is famously cost-disciplined, and Kris led that mandate from the engineering side — driving cloud transformation efforts including workload migration from AWS to GCP, and pushing common shared-services patterns across the cloud estate (Kubernetes operators in place of managed services, for example). As AI tooling moved into engineering, he led both sides of that shift: driving adoption of AI-assisted development across teams, and establishing the governance to keep token spend accountable as usage scaled.
